If you’ve always wanted to learn how to dive, this course is for you. This course is for beginners and provides the essential knowledge and skills needed to prepare for open water diving. This qualification is internationally recognized.
The BSAC Ocean Diver course prepares for this in the safety of a swimming pool or sheltered water and an introduction to open water in a controlled, safe manner. Experience and confidence will be gained under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Maximum depth – 20m/65 feet.
Learning to dive is a life changing experience for many people. Breathing underwater for the first time is something you will never forget and the experience of learning with others is great fun. Your instructor is trained to look after you every step of the way.

The BSAC Ocean Diver course has three main components:

  • Lessons and theory assessment on the basic principles of scuba diving. The content introduces NITROX theory and certifies the diver to be able to use NITROX mixes 32% and 35% on AIR tables or computer, to further enhance diver safety.
  • Five confined water dives to learn the basics in the water (usually in a swimming pool)
  • Five open water dives to further develop your scuba diving skills

10 years of age for Junior Open Water Diver (limitations apply) and Must be 12 years or older, in good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water. Must be able to swim 200m.


We provide you with Tank, Weights, BCD & Regulator Set

You provide your own personal mask, fins, snorkel, gloves and boots available for rent for $50.


Dry Suit upgrade – $150
Recommended for winter courses and divers who plan to conduct further Coldwater diving or training.
Includes hire of a Dry Suit and tuition on how to use correctly. 1 extra Pool session.
